Leadership

At La Pietra, all girls are leaders. Every student has the opportunity to develop their confidence and leadership skills through our robust leadership programs.

Student Council

Each spring, elections are held to determine the President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer for the La Pietra Student Council. In addition, each class elects two representatives to serve. The council is overseen by a faculty advisor, who is a liaison between the students and the faculty and administration. The Student Council spearheads many activities, including school dances, Big Sister/Little Sister activities, spirit week, and various community service projects.

La Pietra Delegates

La Pietra Delegates represent the school at various events, both on campus and in the community. Among their key responsibilities are conducting campus tours, hosting School in Session visits, and volunteering at admissions open houses. In 2011-12, delegates also served as hosts for the Wahine Forum—an annual conference of female business leaders—and volunteered at the APEC summit. Delegates must apply to be part of the program and commit to participating in at least one event per year.

Peer Leaders

La Pietra’s Peer Leaders are a group of young women who provide friendship and leadership to middle school advisory groups. Peer Leaders are women who take initiative as well as direction; are motivated, confident and service-oriented; and believe in the essential traits of integrity and honesty.

National Honor Society

La Pietra’s chapter of the National Honor Society coordinates numerous activities throughout the year, including a Diamond Head clean-up, a luncheon honoring volunteer parents, and peer tutoring on campus. Consideration for membership in the chapter is based upon Scholarship, Character, and Leadership/Service. Each member is selected by the Faculty Council based on the above criteria.
