At Hawai‘i School for Girls at La Pietra, we believe that athletics play an integral part in the educational process. Athletics can teach positive values, self-confidence, and respect for others. We believe that doing one's best and exhibiting good character and sportsmanship supersedes winning at all costs. Therefore, we encourage our students to explore and participate in a number of athletic endeavors. More than 70 percent of the student body participates in at least one sport.
Hawai‘i School for Girls is a member of the Interscholastic League of Honolulu (ILH), which is comprised of 21 private schools across the island of Oahu. HSG fields its own teams in a variety of sports, including basketball, sporter air riflery, track, and volleyball. Further opportunities are available through its membership in the Pac-5 Athletics, a program that brings together student-athletes from smaller schools to field teams and compete in sports such as soccer, canoe paddling, softball, and more. HSG also partners with Shriners Children's Hospitals Sports Medicine department to ensure student-athlete safety.
