At La Pietra, we believe that athletics play an integral part in the educational process. Athletics can teach positive values, self-confidence, and respect for others. We believe that doing one's best and exhibiting good character and sportsmanship supersedes winning at all costs. Therefore, we encourage our students to explore and participate in a number of athletic endeavors. More than 70 percent of the student body participates in at least one sport.
La Pietra is a member of the Interscholastic League of Honolulu (ILH), which is comprised of 24 private schools across the island of Oahu. La Pietra fields its own teams in a variety of sports, including basketball, swimming, sporter air riflery, and volleyball. Further opportunities are available through its membership in the Pac-5 Athletics, a program that brings together student-athletes from smaller schools to field teams and compete in sports such as soccer, canoe paddling, softball, track, and more. La Pietra also partners with Queen’s Sports Medicine to ensure student-athlete safety at La Pietra home games.
