Alumnae Return to Campus for All-School Reunion 2022

July 18th, 2022

La Pietra's alumnae community gather for All-School Reunion 2022.

For the first time since 2018, members of La Pietra's alumnae community came together for All-School Reunion on July 9, 2022. While the event typically occurs every three years, this one was even more highly anticipated after being postposed an extra year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. After being without their LP sisters for so long, alumnae eagerly flocked to Diamond Head to catch up with friends and classmates and reflect on their La Pietra Days.

After checking in and receiving their name badge (complete with senior photo), it was clear that the evening was all about reminiscing. The bar even featured "The Azure Seas" cocktail, a nod to a lyric from the school's alma mater, "La Pietra Days." The Student Learning Center, which many remember as the old library, featured displays of old photos and uniforms as well as a Memorial Corner where alumnae could pay their respects to those sisters who had been lost.

ALL-SCHOOL REUNION HIGHLIGHTS

In an effort to preserve the school's history, a Story Corner was also available where alumnae could share some of their favoritie school memories and have it archived as part of an oral history. Some recalled the earlist days of La Pietra, then known as Hawai‘i School for Girls, under the leadership of its first head of school, Mr. Joseph H. Pynchon.

In a special celebration ahead of All-School Reunion, members of the Class of 1972 got first dibs on campus to commemorate their 50th high school reunion. Those who couldn't make it in-person were also able to celebrate the landmark anniversary by joining the festivities via Zoom. Congratulations, ladies!
