HAWAI‘I SCHOOL FOR GIRLS AT LA PIETRA PRESENTS ONCE UPON A ONE MORE TIME, A BRITNEY SPEARS JUKEBOX MUSICAL
Hawai'i School for Girls at La Pietra proudly presents Once Upon a One More Time, the heart-pumping musical featuring the music of Britney Spears. Performances will take place in the Hawai'i School for Girls gymnasium on:
- Friday, February 27 at 7:00 PM
- Saturday, February 28 at 7:00 PM
- Sunday, March 1 at 3:00 PM
Featuring an all-student cast and crew, Once Upon a One More Time runs 2 hours and 20 minutes, including one intermission, and takes audiences on a magical journey of self-discovery, comedy, and music that will keep you dancing long after the curtain closes.
Powered by the chart-topping hits of the undisputed Princess of Pop, a group of fairy tale princesses goes on a quest to rewrite their stories and redefine “happily ever after.” Once Upon a One More Time weaves 23 of Britney Spears’ smash singles—like “Crazy,” “Oops!…I Did It Again,” “Circus,” “Lucky,” and “Toxic”—into “a big, modern, musical dance party, with Britney’s beating heart at its core” (ABC News).
“Once Upon a One More Time is a modern, feminist jukebox musical featuring songs that all generations love. It’s been fun to watch our 6th-12th graders dance along to the same songs I did when I was their age,” said Ixchel López-Durant, theatre arts teacher and the show’s director and producer. “Our girls are using their time and talent to share a story that teaches us how to create change in the face of injustice, affirms the power of their voices, and celebrates the enduring bond of female friendships.”
