Yearbook Photo Day | November 5

November 2nd, 2020

Information Regarding Yearbook Photo Day

Aloha La Pietra Families,

We appreciate your patience as we worked to create the Yearbook Photo/ID Card Day schedule in-light of recent changes to our on-campus schedule. We have decided to continue with our initial plans to have Yearbook Photo Day on Thursday, November 5.

We understand confirmation of this date and the schedule below may pose conflicts for some families. Therefore, we have also worked to establish alternative options (listed below) and will schedule a make-up photo day later in the term. Thank you for your cooperation in helping us achieve school pictures for each student this year! Please email [email protected] or [email protected] with any questions about the following information!

Important: To place an order for prints, students should have the Photo Order Form (available below) completed, printed, and with them to hand into the photographer on Thursday.

Schedule

  • Middle School students will be learning on-campus Thursday, November 5. They will take their photos at scheduled times during their school day.

  • High School students will be distance learning on Thursday, November 5. Therefore, we ask that high school students come to campus at their grade level's designated time window(s) after-school to take their photo.

*We encourage 12th Graders who are free during A Block Study Hall to come to campus to complete their photo.

Arriving on Campus After-School (High Schoolers Only)

  1. All arriving high school students must stop for temperature checks and present their screening app (or answer screening questions on-site) before proceeding to park in the upper lot or guest parking. If additional parking is needed the art courtyard + Julia Brown Courtyard can be used.
  2. When parking in the upper lot, please continue to follow existing directional arrows to ensure social distancing and proceed to the fountain courtyard.
  3. When parking in guest parking, art courtyard, or Julia Brown courtyard, students must walk to the Junior Breezeway and enter the fountain courtyard from there.
  4. From the courtyard, students will be instructed which location their grade will go to take their photo. Two photo stations will be set up. One in the Student Learning Center. The second in the Senior Lounge.
  5. Please follow instructions from adults on campus and directional arrows that day to return to your vehicle from your photo location.

Additional Information and Reminders

  • Students will be given a new ID with their photo on it during this Yearbook Photo Day. We strongly recommend students keep their original ID with no photo on it as it can be used as a back-up for daily check-in scanning should they ever lose their new one.
  • All students must be in uniform when taking pictures
  • While seniors are required to take these uniform school photos, they do not have to complete the above order form as they already have had senior portraits done by either Expressions or a personal photographer.

Alternative Options for Yearbook Photos

  • We will be scheduling a make-up day for Yearbook Photos on campus in Term 2 should situations surrounding COVID-19 allow.
  • While the school prefers all students complete their pictures on campus, families are welcome to take their photos on their own time at our photography vendor's studio in Aiea/Pearlridge.
  • Families interested in having their photo done at the studio should contact Dean of Students, Gay Chinen ([email protected]) for assistance scheduling their appointment.
