Sculpt for Scholarships raises over $1,600 in Financial Aid

June 24th, 2022

Instructor Alex King guides the class through a sculpt workout.

With students gone for the summer, La Pietra's campus is typically quiet. However, with the launch of the first ever Sculpt for Scholarships series this June, music filled the Great Lawn, keeping sculpters motivated and moving! All donations to the series directly supported La Pietra's Financial Aid Program, and thanks to the generosity of both old and new friends of the school, we are pleased to announce that Sculpt for Scholarships has raised over $1,600.

"We were thrilled with the positive reception to this new program," said Director of Advancement & Alumnae Relations Leah Lee. "It was a joy to participate each week and be active in such a beautiful setting. Although the series has concluded, we look forward to restarting it again in the fall."

Sculpt for Scholarships is a series of classes taught by a certified yoga instructor that took participants of all levels through hour-long workouts that included sculpting and toning postures taught to a range of music to keep things light and fun while working out for a good cause.

ABOUT OUR FINANCIAL AID PROGRAM

We believe cost should never be a barrier to a quality education. All funds raised through Sculpt for Scholarships directly benefit our Financial Aid Program, making a La Pietra education accessible to all girls.

"It's a gift you can't necessarily put a dollar amount to," said Registered Yoga Teacher Alex King. "The gift of education is unmatched."

During her last class, King said it had been a joy to guide participants through this journey. Each of the four classes focused on a theme: gratitude, foundation, community, and finally, purpose. Each workout served a specific goal, reminding sculpters to remember their "why," and ultimately, their purpose on the mat that day.

By the end of the series, King said she had already seen so much growth within each participant and encouraged everyone to continue their practice by making the time to show up for themselves.

Sculpt for Scholarships raised over $1,600 in donations for La Pietra's financial aid program.

"This was a wonderful opportunity to open our campus to the community and invite others to support our students," Lee said. "We are pleased and grateful for everyone’s interest and participation."

Mahalo again to all of our generous participants and donors! Want to join the next Sculpt for Scholarships series? Be sure to sign up for email updates at the link below to receive all the latest information on upcoming classes.
