The goal of the Physical Education Department is to expose students to a variety of traditional and non-traditional sport and physical activities in individual, small-group, and team settings.
This exposure will allow her to understand rules and strategies, demonstrate good sportsmanship, and live an active lifestyle while making healthy and informed choices throughout her lifetime. Participation will also help the physical education student find sports and physical activities that are suited to her interests, strengths, and skills.
Students in health classes explore a wide variety of topics including nutrition and exercise, human development, STDs, mental health, drug abuse, and relationships. Through role-playing and group discussions, students develop conflict-resolution skills, learn to deal with peer pressure, and learn how to advocate for themselves.
