"Membership in the Honor Society is one of the highest honors that can be awarded to a high school student, but membership is both an honor and commitment," stated Liz Ratzi, National Honor Society (NHS) Adviser.
On February 20th, fourteen students were recognized at the Annual National Honor Society Induction ceremony. New NHS members include Jessica Akiona '18, Ruby Shuman '18, Angelina Araki '19, Pearl Lattanzi '19, Emily Pham '19, Sydnie Sambueno '19, Trinity Ung '19, Carly Yamada '19, Arisa Ching '20, Ava Dodhi '20, Gretchen Felten '20, Kaya Heimowitz '20, Azana Queen '20, and Dynah Tuia'ana '20.
After all recipients received their certifications, the current NHS members put together a skit for audience members that invited new NHS members to be part of a constellation that spelled NHS.
Three girls, Jessica, Sydnie, and Dynah were unable to attend the ceremony due to student-athlete priorities, but the other eleven girls took oath in front of the student body, faculty members, friends, and family.
New NHS Member, Azana Queen stated, "It is very meaningful and really a great honor. Not a lot of people get inducted into the NHS, so it really is an honor."
