The annual Father-Daughter event is in October and the Mother-Daughter event is in April. Both events are special for parents to have fun and enjoy dedicated time with their daughters. The event themes change each year and have ranged from group salsa lessons to an 80s themed bash. Volunteers are needed to plan and execute the event. Online registration will be available with more details closer to the event dates. For more information contact the PFA at LaPietraPFA@gmail.com.
Lunch By Moms & Dads (LBMD) is held on one designated Friday of each month. Parents volunteer to prepare and/or serve a “from scratch” lunch for students, faculty and staff. It is a great opportunity to meet and bond with your fellow La Pietra parents. Lunches alternate between pasta bake, baked potato, curry, chicken pesto penne and the famous La Pietra taco salad. The cost is just $5.00 per meal. For more information contact the PFA at LaPietraPFA@gmail.com.
The PFA prepares and hosts refreshments for our New Student Orientation in August, Open Houses in November and February, and the Newly Accepted Student Social in April. These events are an opportunity for current parents to welcome new members to the La Pietra community and to share their experiences with prospective families. For more information contact the PFA at LaPietraPFA@gmail.com.
Occurring in February, Special Guest Day is a day where La Pietra students are able to give back to the community. Special-needs students from public schools around the island are invited to the La Pietra campus to enjoy a fun-filled day complete with crafts, games, a bounce house, face painting, petting zoo, and pony rides. La Pietra students pair with the children and help them have a wonderful experience. This is the event that requires the most volunteer man-power; with over 50 volunteers needed the day of the event for set up, traffic control, staffing game booths, clean up, etc. However, this is also the event that both the students and the volunteers have said is the most fun and rewarding. For more information contact the PFA at LaPietraPFA@gmail.com.
The Final Exam Breakfasts occurs on the last two days of each term. PFA provides a delicious breakfast for all students to energize them for their exams. Volunteers are needed to prepare and serve breakfast. Some preparation can even be done in advance at home. For more information contact the PFA at LaPietraPFA@gmail.com.
Established in January 2018, the PFA Wine & Cheese gathering is quickly gaining a following. This popular event provides an opportunity for parents to socialize with each other as well as with the La Pietra faculty and staff, while enjoying wine and heavy pupus. For more information contact the PFA at LaPietraPFA@gmail.com.
The PFA Tea is a longstanding tradition at La Pietra. Held in the beautiful Hau Arbor, traditional tea and both savory and sweet treats are served while faculty, staff and parents take a well-deserved break and spend some time together. For more information contact the PFA at LaPietraPFA@gmail.com.

In addition to putting on events, the PFA also helps with the following activities:
The Annual Fund Parent Giving Campaign – “Plant-A-Seed For Your Daughter’s Future” occurs during the Fall. This is the time parents are asked to make a tax-deductible gift to the annual fund, which is used to help bridge the gap between tuition and the actual cost of educating each student. This campaign is important for two reasons. The first is the more obvious direct financial impact to the annual fund. The second is the impact participation has on the grants La Pietra applies for throughout the year. Grantors often ask for the percent of participation from student’s families contributing to the annual fund on grant applications. Participation in the Annual Fund gives outside funders insight into our constituency engagement and we want to demonstrate a very strong vote of confidence from our families. In addition, the class with the highest percentage receives special recognition. For more information contact Director of Advancement and Alumnae Relations, Liza Lee at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The annual Sunset Jazz concert occurs in September. La Pietra features some of Hawaii’s best entertainers; including Music Teacher and accomplished vocalist, Shari Lynn. Audience members can enjoy an amazing show on La Pietra’s Great Lawn. Parents are asked to help volunteer with checking in guests, ushering, and decorations. For more information contact the PFA at LaPietraPFA@gmail.com.
Usually held in late-February or early March more than 300 supporters, alumnae, parents and friends gather on the Great Lawn to support La Pietra's Financial Aid program. It is an evening of wonderful entertainment, music, food, decor, and silent and live auction. Parents assist with checking-in guests, ushering, setting-up auction items, and processing auction winners.
Graduation is held at the end of May. The PFA utilizes volunteers to help with event set up, traffic control, preparing snacks and refreshments for after the ceremony, and clean up. For more information contact the PFA at LaPietraPFA@gmail.com.
