La Pietra senior Julia McCreary earned a Letter of Commendation from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation in recognition of her academic promise. The commendation is given to students that score among the top 50,000 of approximately 1.5 million students who take the PSAT/NMSQT exam.

"We congratulate Julia for her achievement in being recognized as one of the 110 students in the state of Hawaii earning this honor. To qualify as a Commended Scholar in the National Merit Scholarship Program, students must score above the 96th percentile of all juniors nationwide on the PSAT administered in October of their junior year. We here at La Pietra are very proud of Julia and pleased to be able to celebrate this with her," said Shelley Lane, Director of Curriculum and College Counseling.
