The Renaissance Period (1350-1550) was the transition period between the Medieval Era and the modern world. The word renaissance means "revival" or "rebirth". It was a period of great achievements in the arts and sciences combined with deep religious concerns. The Renaissance became one of the most productive periods in all history.
Students from Mrs. Man's European History classes have been studying the social relevance of many Renaissance personalities and their contribution to a time of great accomplishments. This year, the assignment was a to present their work through a performance for to their fellow classmates and the first annual "Renaissance Idol" judging panel. Performances constisted of PowerPoint presentations, costumes, speeches, and a 'live' portrayal of the Mona Lisa. Each student worked hard to convince judges Ms. Jani, Mrs. Yoshida, and Mrs. Man that they deserved their vote to be the first Renaissance Idol.
