The Annual Fund is an unrestricted fund made up of donations from La Pietra’s supporters. It helps the school address present needs and immediate priorities to help to fulfill its vision and commitment.
It works in many different ways, funding things such as:
- Student Curriculum resources
- Student technology upgrades
- Student field trips
- Athletics and Art programs
- Much more
While tuition revenue does cover some of the school’s expenses, it doesn’t cover everything. The school’s budget comes from three primary sources: tuition revenue, endowment proceeds, and Annual Fund donations. Tuition alone only covers a portion of the cost of educating each student. Like every private school, La Pietra fills that gap with tax deductible gifts to the Annual Fund.
We are proud to report that our faculty and staff and Board of Trustees consistently have 100% participation rates in the Annual Fund. Over the past several years, the rate of participation by parents has increased dramatically, from 15% in 2008-09 to 70% in 2013-14.
This year, we are pleased to announce that a generous friend of La Pietra will make a matching donation to the school if La Pietra is able to raise a combined annual fund total of $150,000 with gifts from all members of our community, including current parents, alumnae, faculty and staff, Board Members, and friends. Strong Annual Fund participation by all members of the La Pietra 'ohana with a gift of any size brings our school one step closer to securing the generous matching gift and demonstrates a strong belief in the school by those we serve.
