The afternoon enrichment courses will provide girls with a wide array of opportunities to discover their talents, explore their creativity, and have fun while engaged in a variety of stimulating learning opportunities. These courses can also provide a meaningful, full-day experience that balances the morning focus on the Tech Boot Camp or the Leadership Academy. Enrichment courses are offered in one-week sessions, from 1 pm to 3 pm, Monday – Friday.

Girls will enjoy learning hula dance steps, hand positions, dance posture, while also being introduced to Hawaiian language, culture, values, traditions, chanting and songs. Girls will be encouraged to dance gracefully, with confidence as individuals and as a group.
In this fun, creative writing class, budding authors and poets will work together to create a La Pietra Summer Literary Magazine. Students will have an opportunity to create original pieces of writing, including poems, stories, and more. In a nurturing, all-girls’ learning environment, students will be encouraged to share, discuss, and edit their work in the supportive, collaborative group. The course will discuss different techniques of writing and the development of the author’s voice. Every student has something to gain and to contribute to this special class. Come and join us!
Join other emerging artists and explore your creativity in this class designed to expand your imagination and have fun! Students will draw creative inspiration from their beautiful surroundings, with visits to nearby Waikiki beach to gather limu seaweed, to finding the perfect outdoors spot on our scenic campus to sketch. Students will return home with limu prints, Indigo dyed shirts, paintings, and a handmade sketchbook filled with ideas, stories and drawings inspired by the beautiful environment of La Pietra and Hawaii Nei.
Put on your Sherlock Holmes’ Detective Hats and join forces with the other special investigators in your class to help solve some iconic, puzzling and intriguing history mysteries from America’s past. Help crack the cases of the Mystery of the Crystal Skulls and the Theft of the Irish Crown Jewels, discover the hidden stories behind the Lost Colony of Roanoke and the Oak Island Money Pit, and find out what really happened in the Bermuda Triangle, the Salem Witch Trials and more. Students will also have fun discovering some history mysteries closer to home, from La Pietra’s own campus to nearby Waikiki.Grades: 5 - 12

Join other aspiring chefs having fun in the kitchen preparing delicious dishes, and learning cooking and etiquette lessons that will last a lifetime. Learn how to display your food creations with beautiful table set up techniques and gain confidence using proper etiquette, table manners, and social graces that will impress even the most elegant guests. Students will take home printed recipes to help them recreate their delicious dishes for family and friends.
