Financial Aid at La Pietra
Thanks to generous support from many individuals and foundations over the years, La Pietra is able to provide a substantial financial aid program, awarding a level of assistance to approximately 40% of the student body.
Only students who are accepted for enrollment will be considered for financial aid awards. All awards are based on an analysis of family need using the Parent Financial Statement (PFS) from School and Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS).
Financial aid awards for new students will be announced in early April for the school year beginning in August.
Beatrice Watson Parrent Scholarship
APPLICATIONS CLOSED DECEMBER 7, 2007La Pietra's Beatrice Watson Parrent Scholarship program is designed for exceptional girls who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, balanced with extracurricular participation. Usually only one or two of these scholarships are awarded per year. This renewable grant covers the entire cost of tuition and books, and is reserved for girls entering grades six, seven or nine for students whose families demonstrate full financial need.
Full financial need is determined by completion of the PFS/SSS form online, or requested from the school office. PLEASE NOTE: Online forms are processed within 72 hours, and mailed forms take up to 5 weeks. The deadline for La Pietra to receive the form from SSS is March 15th. We strongly recommend online completion of the form in order to meet our deadline.
If an applicant is nominated by her school principal for the Beatrice Watson Parrent (BWP) scholarship, La Pietra waives the $50 application fee, and reimburses the family $24 paid for the PFS/SSS form processing. The school also provides waivers for the SSAT test fee for girls nominated by their school.
Parents may also nominate their students for the BWP Scholarship. To do so, please send a letter to the school via email to admissions@lapietra.edu, or by mail outlining the reasons you believe your daughter should be considered for the award, and complete all requirements listed for financial aid applications. Students nominated for the BWP by their parents pay the standard fees for application.
Beatrice Watson Parrent Scholarship winners will be announced in early April. Nominees not selected for the BWP scholarship automatically enter the regular financial aid request process for possible partial financial assistance.
