Summer Sports at La Pietra

Come enjoy a fun-filled summer where girls of all ability levels are able to discover, grow and develop. Open for girls entering grades 5 through 12.

Summer coaches will lead sessions in volleyball and swimming to promote self-esteem, confidence and sportsmanship. Participants will learn fundamental aspects for each sport. Skills will be built upon throughout the summer and incorporated through various drills, games, and activities.

Summer Swimming

This course is open to Intermediate to Advanced swimmers only.  In order to participate in the summer swimming program, students must be able to swim the length of the pool without assistance.  

Focus areas:
  • Basic techniques of strokes including freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke, and butterfly
  • Water safety skills and swim relays
  • Endurance and equipment training
Grades: 5 -12
Dates: June 15 – July 22
Days of the Week: Mondays & Wednesdays
Hours: 3:30 – 5:00 PM
Cost: $140

Summer Volleyball

This session is designed to develop fundamental-based skills with a focus on proper technique. Depending on age and skill level, participants will focus on:
  • Serve, receive, and ball control
  • Location and tempo setting
  • Proper approach footwork and arm swing
  • Building speed, quickness, and vertical jump
  • Types of serves and serving areas
  • An understanding of the different offensive and defensive positions
  • Personal development and team sportsmanship
Grades: 5 - 12
Dates: June 16 – July 23
Days of the Week: Tuesdays & Thursdays
Hours: 3:30 – 5:00 PM
Cost: $140
