The Social Studies Department expects its students to become lifelong learners, critical thinkers, and responsible, informed global citizens.
To that end, it creates learning experiences focusing on humanities, history, social issues and responsibility. Collaborative and independent study is used to enhance skills such as using maps, charts, and other statistical data; writing and research; accessing and using technology to research and to express ideas; developing understanding and compassion for the world, its history, and its people; and articulating a point of view.
