The Social Studies Department expects its students to become lifelong learners, critical thinkers, and responsible, informed global citizens.To that end, it creates learning experiences focusing on humanities, history, social issues and responsibility. Collaborative and independent study is used to enhance learning skills through:
- map reading, charts, and other statistical data;
- writing and research;
- accessing and using technology to research and to express ideas; and
- developing an understanding and compassion for the world, its history, and its people; and articulating a point of view.
