College Counseling

We believe that leading a life of fulfillment includes an enriching college experience. 

In addition to academic preparation, we prepare families and our students for college through a personal and tailored process that focuses on finding the right fit for both the student and her family. 

College counseling begins in the junior year with a combination of group and individual guidance. All juniors participate in Junior Seminar, which includes an exploration of the college application process, a narrowing of college choices, and preparation for college entrance exams such as the SAT and ACT. Junior parents also meet with the Director of College Counseling to discuss the upcoming months of college preparation.

Early in the senior year, families meet individually with the Director of College Counseling to create a final list of colleges for application and deadlines for submission of necessary information. Most La Pietra students complete their applications in November and begin to receive acceptances and scholarship offers by the end of December.

Did You Know?

A majority of students at La Pietra are accepted into their first or second choice school and 100% of graduates attend college. Many receive merit-based scholarships. For example, the 38 girls who graduated with the Class of 2012 received almost $6 million in merit-based scholarship offers and were awarded another $1 million in private scholarships, some at the state and national levels.
