Middle School English/Social Studies Teacher:  La Pietra - Hawaii School for Girls is seeking applicants for the position of Middle School English/Social Studies teacher, grades 6-8. A successful candidate will hold a BA or MA in English or a related field, have teaching experience with both middle and high school students preferably in an independent school, and be knowledgeable and grounded in best practices in teaching the range of English from reading and writing to speaking and listening as well as background in the Social Sciences. This position consists of a full-time teaching load with middle school English and Social Studies courses, and responsibilities with homeroom oversight, involvement in extra-curricular and co-curricular activities as needed. Ability to successfully collaborate with other teachers, effectively communicate within the school community, and positively impact the learning of students is essential.

Middle School/Upper School Math Teacher:   La Pietra Hawaii School for Girls is seeking applicants for the position of Middle School/ Upper School Math teacher, grades 6-12.  A successful candidate will hold a BA or MA in Math or a related field, have teaching experience with both middle and high school students preferably in an independent school, and be knowledgeable and grounded in best practices in teaching math. This position consists of a full-time teaching load with both middle school and upper school classes, a homeroom responsibility, and involvement extra-curricular and co-curricular advisory and supervisory positions as needed.   Ability to successfully collaborate with other teachers, effectively communicate within the school community, and positively impact the learning of students is essential.

Middle School/Upper School Drama Teacher:    Hawaii
La Pietra - Hawaii School for Girls is seeking applicants for the position of Middle School/Upper School Drama teacher, grades 6-12.  A successful candidate will hold a BA or MA in English, Theater, or a related field, have teaching experience with both middle and high school students preferably in an independent school, and be knowledgeable and grounded in best practices in teaching theater from introduction to production.  This position consists of a full-time teaching load with oversight of the production of the school play, a homeroom responsibility, and involvement with extra-curricular and co-curricular advisory and supervisory positions as needed.   Ability to successfully collaborate with other teachers, effectively communicate within the school community, and positively impact the learning of students is essential.  
 

Spanish Teacher:  La Pietra Hawaii School for Girls is seeking applicants for the position of Spanish teacher, grades 7-12. A successful candidate will hold a BA or MA in Spanish or a related field, have teaching experience with both middle and high school students preferably in an independent school, and be knowledgeable and grounded in best practices in teaching secondary languages. This position consists of a full-time teaching load, and responsibilities with homeroom oversight, involvement in extra-curricular and co-curricular activities as needed. Ability to successfully collaborate with other teachers, effectively communicate within the school community, and positively impact the learning of students is essential. 

Part-time Bus Driver:  La Pietra—Hawaii School for Girls is seeking a reliable and dependable person for a part-time bus driver position (varying hours Monday through Friday at $15.00 per hour). Current Hawaii driver license, and ability to meet State requirements for driving a 15-passenger school van; including physical examination, background investigation, traffic and criminal abstract, TB clearance, and completion of bus driver training programs. Current first aid card. Ability to understand and carry out instructions and complete various forms and records; interpersonal skills to effectively communicate to students, parents and school personnel in both oral and written forms required.
